4 Objectives for Petition |
We as members of the International civil society organization Global Unification Africa, conscious of the role we must play for the development of our continent, after strong reflexion on our responsibility as African citizens, considering the dependent obstacles and its development process, hereby write this petition to propose the following as solutions to Africa's development.
1. Restoration of dignity, pride, and respect of Africa as a continent and of Africans as individuals. |
These days, the dignity, pride and respect of Africans as individuals and collectively as a continent are ridiculed by internal divisions, conflicts without end and social miseries of different kinds, it proves to be difficult to link the dispersed efforts of Africans for a common work in favour of the general well being of the African populations, and to bring to a successful conclusion of economic projects and of construction without resorting to external assistances. This has done nothing but contribute to show a negative image of Africa and to assign to it a row of third class citizenship in the world.
It thus becomes imperative to link gradually and resolutely all African forces to find a definite and radical solution to restore to Africa once again its dignity, its pride and respect. |
2. Trade Justice as opposed to free trade. |
Taking into account the current commercial reports/ratios, Africa will be the largest loser in a policy of free commercial trade. Having only 2% of trade in the world, an equitable policy of trade will be more favorable to Africa which will be able to then adjust its economy with that of the world and to be able to deaden its deficits and to better contribute to the evolution of its community. However with this intention, a common economic policy must be considered and put in place with the help of the African Union and its adoption with a sincere and united voice of African Leaders supported by the Global African Community. |
3. Promotion, creation and reinforcement of small and medium scale industrices and entrerprises in conection with the needs of the African populations. |
This will make it possible for Africans to turn to the productive sector, to create jobs and to reduce general poverty. This must be passed by the renewal of the educational system in place. This also permits the decongestion of populated cities and markets which currently tarnish the streets of cities in Africa and will facilitate the fluidity of the exchanges of goods and services. This is possible if only our leaders have policies and common strategies based on one voice with the support of the Global African Community. |
4. Reinforcement of self-confidence and hope of African youths. |
It is visible that youths of today are frustrated because of the absence of a clear vision and hope for their future. It is a fact that one could not be unaware of, seeing African youths giving themselves to suicidal mission for greener pastures, not counting how many die while wanting to leave Africa for the developed countries. We implore African leaders to have a vision turned towards these youths in offering a good educational system, a good vocational guidance, the creation of industries and enterprises, obliging them to seek employment or be self employed and not that of immigration. This requires a united voice of African leaders and the support of the Global African Community. |
We are convinced that the points enumerated in the petition text certainly will solve the problems of Africans. It will be noted that in several aspects of this text we focused on a united voice of African leaders and the support of the global African community. This is because we are certain that without these two, our objective for a better Africa would be in vain.
